October 11, 2012 show: US Presidential Candidate Merlin Miller third party challenge
On October 11, 2012, CHUO 89.1 FM (Ottawa) The Train's Denis Rancourt interviewed US presidential candidate, American Third Position Party (A3P), Mr. Merlin Miller.
Mr. Miller is the only US presidential candidate who has recently had a personal meeting with the President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Miller, a former military commander, is staunchly anti-militarist for America's foreign policy and seeks a coalition of all Americans who oppose corporate and finance control of the state in favor of individual freedom and protection against globalization forces.
Together, we explored criticisms leveled against the A3P, Zionism in America, mass media, and ways that the Right and the Left can cooperate against corporate and finance predation of the middle and working classes.

Update on Bradley Manning -- USA government's insane reaction to Wikileaks

On June 2, 2011, CHUO 89.1 FM (Ottawa, Canada) The Train's Denis Rancourt first explained the efforts he has been making to secure pro-Israel (Israel Lobby) radio guests to balance the show's critical reports against the ongoing war crimes of Israel. The show had been reserved for representatives of the Israel Lobby organization B'nai Brith but they did not reply or show up (see invitation here).
As a backup, Rancourt aired a May 25, 2011, press conference interview series about the USA Bradley Manning violations of human rights. This remarkable series featured speakers Daniel Ellsberg, Jesselyn Raddack, Ann Wright, Christina McKenna, and Julian Assange.

Blast from the Past: 5OCTrain 2008 interviews with Webster G. Tarpley - Correct predictions on Obama geopolitics

The Train featured two fall 2008 interviews with public intellectual, historian, and best selling author Webster G. Tarpley. The broad topics were a constitutional challenge to the Barack Obama candidacy, citizens' rights in a modern democracy, and US geopolitics of war.
[Please excuse some technical and voice quality problems in Part-I.]
Part-I was on October 30, 2008:
Part-II was on November 6, 2008:
In Part-II, before Obama was elected US president and before there were any precursors in the media, Tarpley explained with confidence that under Obama there would be de-escalation in Iraq and a very significant buildup in Afghanistan. Tarpley explained this in terms of the Democratic-Republican differences in geopolitical madness and in terms of the dominance of Wall Street on US politics.
The analysis in Part-II is framed in a study of fascism and its defining characteristics. Tarpley breaks the false notion that fascism always arises from and is driven by the right.
There is no substitute for listening to the terse interview in Part-II for understanding the US war machine - OMG this stuff never comes out in the mainstream. It's much worst then radical profs say...

War, Support our Troops, Campus Democracy, Racism and Student Oppression!
This week's show begins with undergraduate students Jeremy Robbins and Dylan Gowans joining us in studio to share their opinions of the Red Fridays Campaign voted down at a recent SFUO Campaigns Committee meeting. Dylan and Jeremy had expressed their views in a Fulcrum issue where they criticized those who pretend that support for our troops can be an apolitical act...
During the second half of the show co-host Mireille Gervais conversed with her colleague Zachary Fouchard about their experience working as Student Appeal Officers with the Student Appeal Centre. The SAC's advice concerning unfair grades was recently featured in Maclean's university rankings issue. Racism, asymmetry of power between students and administrators and how to deal with doing emotionally charged work and many other themes were discussed.
