Mr. Stavnyck was found not guilty of assaulting a large security guard by repeatedly kicking the guard in the groin while being arrested. The Judge Heather Perkins-McVey was cautioned about reasonable apprehension of bias during the trial and this changed in-court atmosphere.

Large security guards attacked the 90 lbs. multiple sclerosis patient in the Canadian Parliament building and then charged Mr. Stavnyck with the criminal charges of assault against one of them and disturbing the peace.
